- Industry Flash - Crane Sling Snapped - August 2010  **NEW**

There have been two (2) incidents at domestic paper mills.  In the first a sling snapped during a felt change on a paper machine.  In the second, at a different mill, an incident offurred when a forklift reversed into a stack of paper reels in a reel store whilst removing stock.

On 22nd July 2010 there was a serious incident at a domestic paper mill which resulted in a fatality.  The deceased was struck by a forklift carrying a load of paper bales.

A partially built reel of paper fell from a paper machine to the floor while the machine was producing paper.

- Operator Injured by Rider Roll - 13/07/2010

A Finishing Operator had his lower legs pinned between a Rider Roll and the Winder Drum, causing soft tissue crush injuries.

A plumber fell through a laser light panel at an Australian manufacturing site this week.

On 25 October 2009, an employee working in a Swedish paper mill suffered fatal injuries while working on a Perinie Rodumat Model - Mo 5800.
